The inaugural Noel Walsh International Rules Tournament saw dozens of young players from Irish, Australian and many other backgrounds compete at Nazareth College on Sunday.
Please see below for a write up on the day from Kids GAA Melbourne:
Braving conditions that would have found some of the parents heading for shelter, these young athletes put on a masterclass in skill, good sportsmanship, determination and how well our games can bring communities together, wherever in the world they are played.
The U10s were relentless, running all day and showing some flashes of brilliance on the ball, while the U12s was hard fought with Geelong Gaels, Rowville Knights, and the hosts, all fancying their chances going into the semi finals.
In the final, refereed by Sian Walsh, the Rowville Knights got up in a nail biter against Kids GAA Melbourne, but as you can see from the photos, everyone had a great day out, and the sun came out just in time.
A huge thank you to our tournament sponsors at the Ganley Group and to everyone who made yesterday possible, the players, families, coaches and committee members. The future is bright!
