Big congratulations and well done to Geelong Gaels on hosting their first Geelong Gaels Championships. The day was also a celebration of 70 years of Gaelic Games and they also honoured Geelong’s 1954 Victorian Hurling Champions. It definitely wasn’t Irish conditions as the temperature topped 32 degrees at one point. Well done to all the traveling teams that took part in the football and congratulations to Pearses on winning both the mens and ladies competitions. The main event for the day was a Hurling game between Geelong Gaels and St. Kevin’s with St. Kevin’s winning by 6 points. All the teams are now looking forward to this weekend at the Garryowen 9s.March 6, 2022
